Role Overview

As VP of R&D, you’ll lead the teams exploring how brands get seen, cited, and retrieved inside the world’s most advanced language models. You’ll drive innovation at the edge of AI, connecting core research with product strategy and execution. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can zoom out to set vision, and zoom in to unblock a model pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead R&D strategy across AI search behavior, model interaction, and data pipelines

  • Manage a team of engineers, data scientists, and research analysts

  • Build tools, frameworks, and experiments that help us understand and shape LLM output

  • Partner with product and engineering to bring research insights into production

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in LLM retrieval, prompt design, and model evaluation

  • Connect research to business impact and make sure it scales

Required Qualifications

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in AI, ML, or applied research leadership

  • Deep knowledge of NLP, LLMs, RAG systems, and AI evaluation methods

  • Experience managing and scaling high-performing technical teams

  • Proven track record of shipping research-backed systems or products

  • Strong communication and alignment skills

Bonus

  • Have experience working on or alongside open-source LLM projects

  • Have published research, filed patents, or presented at AI conferences

  • Have helped shape product strategy through research leadership
